Yermiyahu was actually in the company of his mother when he was lamenting; he was then told he would be strengthened as a fenced brazen wall that his enemies would not prevail against. It clearly reveals his trusting relationship with his mother at the time he was chosen for duty, since he was pouring out his sorrows in her presence.
Many people probably have noticed YRMYH was told not to marry in chapter 16, since the location he was in had unsuitable options for a wife and the community was unfavorable.
What was prophesied as unholy behavior of those without hope?
'.... but we will walk after own own DEVICES...'
After reading chapters 15 through 19, bring to mind YRMYH chapter 18, verse 12 when appalled at people walking with electronic devices lifted up in their hands like electronically addicted fools.
You, be a discerning witness if not a judge.
