Depression often stems from being untruthful or discarding facts to avoid a literal spiritual battle and choose failure. I discarded facts about the temper of my former husband and his ex-wife was not 'putting him down' but was revealing one significant fact that caused their marriage to fail while failing to indicate she had been committing adultery with a tavern man.
I'm not putting down others when uncomplimentary facts are disclosed; when others lowered themselves to whorish, deceiving, adulterous, untruthful or drunkard levels and we must be cautious not to do as they did. Far more people are sleeping ugly these days, and sleeping ugly is often something that a human being can't avoid when beaten but could have avoided if they weren't too lazy to provide conditions for themselves to sleep beautifully and well.
