Some might view such a fancy subdivision as heaven, but it looked like a very pricey hellish zone to me.
The chemically-bombed lawns in Powell Ridge are devoid or any beneficial plants like the Macomb Corners park but unlike the Romeo High schools grounds which still have a healthy mix of natural greens. Huge homes, excessive in size and priced to profit the builders, have little to know floral landscaping as house residents have opted for a few inedible, cheap shrubs with few, if any, annual or perennial flowers being planted to beautify their painfully boring, inedible and chemically-bombed lawns.. The only edible plants I noticed were hosts at one foundation, but I'd surmise that hosts purchaser doesn't know hosts shoots are edible as asparagus.
Don't look upon Powell Ridge with a spirit of jealousy; it is horticulturally and agriculturally void of understanding and is an pricey example of the spirit of laziness, overindulgence, intentional lawn chemical spills and haughtiness mixed in with a total lack of preparedness and humility. The lawns of the lazy and currently apathetic bordering deteriorating houses in Flint, Michigan are far more likely than the Powell Ridge mansions to have an edible lawn capable of being converted into a vegetable bed with plenty of physical effort and a small investment of seeds and gardening tools!
The above being written by a well-educated student of Suzanne Sood, my non-lazy parents' small urban yard blossoming for nearly 40 years with peach trees, an apple tree, tomatoes, green beans, peas, onions, peppers and assorted greens in southeastern Wisconsin had open signs of human, natural intelligence far above the obvious stupidity spreading into HOA's such as Powell Ridge in Romeo, Michigan.
Don't envy the type of people that shove themselves into Powell Ridge, forms of Trump, Bush &Biden lifestyles, that often are funded by a DOE as departments of embezzlement, by fraudulent practices, overcharging, lack of honorable charity and by methods of larceny that include bankruptcy filings. Don't envy such outwardly embellished, but certainly don't willfully trust, intentionally assist nor personally defend their modus operandi.
Funding sultry and seducing dance squads, whether as a part of a school, party or business, is not honorable charity. Cody Smith, athletic director at Romeo High School, did professionally listen to my opinions and opposition to dance squads imposing their seducing spirits into high school athletic gatherings, and whether or not he alters his domain is his choice. He did listen with etiquette and a polite spirit, which is something the UWM.ORG and Mesa Global employees of Christianity's businesses haven't humbled themselves enough to do. I'm thankful I am not forced to stay and watch seducing high school spirits labeled as 'dance squads' and cheerleaders but even more thankful that I had the courage and wisdom to speak kindly to Cody Smith and do my יחזקאל chapter 18 duty as 'Cucumber' dusk split between the codes of Sherwin Williams and the hues of Benjamin Moore.
